CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Carbon Steel

Unlike stainless steel, when carbon steel is introduced to oxygen and moisture in the environment, the surface begins to oxidize. Although this oxidation, or “patina”, is often sought after in the custom club market, there are ways to reduce or slow the process if you wish to:

  1. Dry the club off with a towel before placing it back in your headcover or golf bag. Leaving your club in a damp or wet environment will certainly accelerate the oxidation process.

  2. After your round, spray a light coat of silicone spray on the club, and wipe it down with a dry, clean cloth. If you know you will be playing in wet conditions, do this before and after. My favorite product is Putter Butter, but you can even use regular silicone spray, which can be found at any hardware or automotive store.

Silicone spray will not only protect the club from the elements, but it can also revitalize the appearance of a custom finish that’s showing signs of wear.

Titanium Damascus

While Titanium Damascus is a bright and vibrant metal when it’s clean, transferring oils from your hands onto its surface can leave it looking dull. To clean the insert, spray a Q-Tip with Windex and brush over the insert a few times. Repeat if necessary. This will restore the color, and make your insert shine again.

Carbon Steel + Titanium Damascus

While your carbon putter will appreciate silicone spray, your Titanium Damascus insert will not. Silicone spray won’t harm the insert by any means, but it will leave an oily film over the insert. Follow these steps to care for your carbon steel putter and Titanium Damascus inserts.

  1. Remove any loose dirt from the club and apply a light film of oil or silicone spray.

  2. Using a dry, clean cloth, rub the oil into the club and wipe the insert clean.

  3. Spray a Q-Tip with Windex and brush over the insert a few times. Repeat if necessary.
